What a first year!

The L20 Hotel School was launched in August 2013, and what a first year it was! The year started with a soft opening for invited guests. Just 18 days later, we were hosting some of the country’s leading chefs and the cream of the UK Hospitality Industry, as the chefs battled it out for the title of Pro Chef 2013.

By Christmas, our reputation had grown rapidly, and we served over a thousand guests getting in the festive mood. We’d been open just shy of 40 days at this point.

In 2014, Michelin starred chef, Nigel Haworth, visited us three times to cook; each time providing the chefs with an experience they will never forget. We were also visited through the year by Dave Critchley of 60 Hope Street and Adam Franklin of the Yacht Club Liverpool; each service providing our chefs and service staff with further industry insight.

During the International Festival of Business (IFB), we provided food, drink and service to delegates from across the globe. Not wanting to miss out on the action, we hosted several prestigious IFB events here at the L20 Hotel School.

So what’s next? Well, we’re getting bigger! Over the summer, we’ve added a new training kitchen, expanded our service kitchen, and have developed new training packages for all ages, and that’s just the start. Look out for guest chef spots from TV chefs, visits from some of Liverpool’s most innovative chefs, and evenings hosted by some of the UK’s most recognisable hotel brands.

One thing is for sure, it is going to be another exciting year and we can’t wait to see you.
